Hello, my name is Bryan and I live in Colorado. I have a beautiful wife and four kids who keep life busy and interesting. Whenever I get the chance, I love to go fishing, hunting, and shooting. Growing up, some of my best memories were out in the country, shooting and fishing as much as we could—and we especially loved shooting archery at 3D targets.
I was blessed to have my mom, grandma, and great-grandma as pillars of faith in my life. Their faith never wavered, and I owe a lot of who I am today to their example. When I was 12, our family moved from Nebraska to Colorado. That’s when I found the church family I still hold dear. I’m honored to serve as a Deacon in our congregation, and I do my best to serve wherever I’m needed.
I’ve always struggled with public speaking, and that’s a big reason I started this blog. Writing gives me a way to encourage others and share some of the lessons that have shaped the man I am today. I also hope to give honest opinions on outdoor gear and have some fun along the way.
I also want to share why I chose the name, Outdoor Gear and The Way. Outdoor Gear is the small business I own, where I sell firearm accessories and hunting and fishing gear. “The Way” comes from what the early church called themselves—followers of Christ—before the term “Christian” became common. I wanted a name that reflects both my love of the outdoors and my faith.
